HELMDON CHURCH STREET SP5843 (East side) 14/5 Nos.39 and 41

Pair of cottages. Early C18. Coursed limestone rubble, plain tile roofs, brick end stacks on stone bases. No.39 has a 2-unit plan. 2-storey, 2-window range. Central C20 plank door with timber lintel in C20 stone porch, a 3-light casement to right, two 2-light casements to left, all with timber lintels. Two hipped dormers and stone-coped gable to left with kneelers. No.41 has 1-unit plan. 2-storeys and attic; one-window range. C20 part-glazed door to left with timber lintel, 3-light casements to ground and first floors with timber lintels and hipped roof dormer. Quoins and stone-coped gable to right with kneelers. Lean-to extension to right. Interior of No.41 has stop-chamfered spine beams.
