HIGHAM FERRERS COLLEGE STREET SP9668NW (East side) 18/25 No.2 and attached shop 23/09/50 (Formerly listed as No.2A) GV II

House, now house and shop. Early C19. Squared coursed limestone with concrete tile roof. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys. Main front abutting College Street is a 3-window range of C20 casements in original openings under stone lintels with keyblocks. Central 6-panel door has moulded wood surround and flat-topped hood. C20 shop front to right. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers and truncated brick stacks at ridge and end. Elevation to right abutting Market Square has shallow gable to left with Venetian style tripartite sash windows with glazing bars, to first and second floors: similar to that of the Town Hall (q.v.). Sash windows to right, reducing at second floor, both have glazing bars and flat stone arches with keyblocks. C20 shop window to ground floor left. Interior not inspected but noted as having panelled window reveals.
