BRIGSTOCK OLD DRY LANE SP9485 (East side) 15/82 Wallis's Mill (Wythe, Holland, Udall Partnership) - II
Shown as No.50 on Ordnance Survey Map. Factory, now office. c.1873-4. Squared coursed limestone with slate roof. Rectangular single-depth plan. 4 storeys. South-west elevation of 13-window range. Centre 3 bays break forward slightly, with a gable over. Arch-head windows with ashlar surrounds and keyblocks. Windows have cast-iron glazing bars and centre opening lights. Doorway to far right has similar surround and C20 door. Chamfered plinth and ashlar quoins. Hipped roof. Gable has arch-head niche with bell. Side elevations each of 2 bays. North-east elevation, to rear, is similar, without central gable. Metal fire escape stair. Interior not inspected. Built by Messrs. Wallis and Linnell, as a clothing factory, to give maximum natural light to each floor. (Buildings of England: Northamptonshire, p.122).
