3/38 Stable and Cottage range, west side of courtyard approx 100m. south-east of Heydon Hall
GV II
Range of stables and attached cottage. Late C17 and later. Red brick with steeply-pitched pantile roof. Two storeys. Facade to courtyard (east) has three stepped-gabled bays; under the left-hand gable, a square-headed doorway with rectangular fanlight, 2-light first floor casement with glazing bars set in segmental-headed opening. Ground floor cross-casements, ovolo-moulded; two doorways with keyed segmental arches and stuccoed surrounds. Central doorway flanked by two single-light casements. First floor string course with stuccoed moulding. Upper loading doors with segmental heads. Brick eaves corbel-table. Gables have square terracotta panels with the initials WB. Two chimney stacks on ridge line, off-centre to south. Parapeted gables with eaves corbels and square finials. West elevation has C20 wooden casements with glazing bars and ½-glazed entrance doors. Catslide roof over lean-to on north-west side; lean-to porch in angle. Dentilled brick eaves. Pantiled one-storey lean-to on south gable. Boundary wall attached to south- east corner, ½ round coping, square gate pier with ball-finial.
