BELTON STATION ROAD SOUTH TG 40 SE (north side) 7/8 Belton Old Hall 27.11.54 - II*

House. Early C18. Brick with pantiled roof. South facade of 3 storeys in 5 bays. At east and west terminations of facade rise bold gault brick giant pilasters with moulded bases and restrained capitals. Central panelled door with glazed top panels. Timber doorcase consists of Roman Doric pilasters carrying a dentiled triglyph frieze below a pediment. C18 sash windows with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches, all with central keystones, painted white. Ground floor windows have original upper sashes, but lower have lost their glazing bars and are now fitted with plate glass. First floor sashes are late C18. Top floor sashes early C18. Staircase window over door is round-headed and with gault brick rusticated surround. Moulded gault brick eaves cornice below gabled roof. Internal gable end stacks. Gable heads have tumbling. To rear a 2 storey brick C19 extension with hipped slate roof. At intervals are C19 sashes and C20 casements. Interior not accessible at time of re-survey.
