House and former shop. C16 with C18 extensions and remodelling. Red brick
encasing timber frame to north, north gable rendered and whitewashed. Exposed
section of south gable weatherboarded. Two storeys with attics over north
range. Pantile roofs at two levels, steeply pitched over north range. Princi-
pal facade to west: north range of three windows, unevenly spaced. Two-light
casements with glazing bars and segmental heads. Wedge-lintols over ground
floor openings. In the southern ground floor bay, a doorway with six-panelled
door and Tuscan pilastered doorcase. Plain brick corner pilasters. Ridge
stack opposite entrance, set slightly north of gable. C19 one-storey pantiled
lean-to at north gable; above, a 4-light first floor window with ovolo moulded
mullions and transom. Exposed gable tie beam with large chamfer and barred
stops. Traces of pargetting on each side of window. 2-light attic casement.
Later lower range to south with good C18 shop front with two bow windows with
glazing bars flanking doorway. One 3-light casement and one sash, both with
glazing bars. Parapeted south gable with rebuilt external chimney stack and
tumbling-in at gable base.
