4/7 Grove Farmhouse
4:10:60 (formerly listed
as Home Farm House).

House (shown on O.S. map as Home Farm). Dated 1782 on tie-irons to left
hand gable. Galleted flint with brick dressings. Pantile roof. Irregular
plan. Facade of 2 storeys, 3 bays then to left a taller 2-storey bay, this
bay having 4-light casements that to the ground floor under a segmental
arch. Brick quoins between it and next bay with doorcase having polygonal
columns, dentils to cornice; C19.door. 2-light casement and 3-light case-
ment in altered opening both under segmental arches. Some rendering has
fallen off to extreme tight of facade revealing a wooden door frame. Quoins
to right hand gable in C16/C17 brick. First floor 3 cross casements under
soldier arches. All windows have leaded glazing. Gable-end stacks. Owner
has a datestone said to have been removed from gable during restoration
dated 1591.
