II

Water fountain and troughs. 1902. Ashlar, some copper. Plinth
surmounted by outer single pilasters with inner chamfered
corners, each pilaster surmounted by single decorative shallow
corbels to front and sides, supporting an entablature which
extends over the single central recessed panel. Mounted onto
this is a single copper plaque inscribed "Erected by public
subscription to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII
June 16 1902. Unveiled by the Honble Mrs. Noel". Over, set at
oblique angles and further supporting the entablature are 2
decorative brackets. Entablature surmounted in the centre by
dome with single vertical bands to front, rear and sides,
terminating in single decorative finial. The dome is flanked by
3 decorative brackets each with single squat finials. Extending
across the base is an ashlar trough. Rear following similar
design, however projecting from the central panel is a similar
smaller trough with remains of water fountain over.
