House. Late C16/early C17 with later alterations and additions. Timber framed on high brick plinth with ashlar dressings; plain tile roof; brick external lateral stacks. Two-room range aligned northeast/southwest with porch projecting from centre of southeast side; main living rooms at ground floor level, kitchens in basements.

Two storeys and gable-lit attic on basement; 1:1:1 windows, casements except four-light chamfer mullioned window to basement left, blocked window to basement right; central two storey gabled porch with door approached by flight of stone steps, the first six semi-circular in plan, with elaborately carved stone parapet interspersed with piers of square section.

Framing: close studded ground floor, scrolled brackets to jettied first floor with decorative framing of diagonal struts, those to the outer panels forming lozenge shapes.

Southwest elevation: two storey, two bay late C17 brick extension to left with first floor band, casements to first floor and six-light mullioned and transomed windows to ground floor; central two storey brick link with ground floor doorway approached by flight of stone steps, and first floor casement; gable of main house to right with four-light mullion window to basement, casement to ground floor; close studded ground floor, square panelled first floor and attic, both floors have straight tension braces.

Two main rooms of basement have massive segmental-arched fireplaces, two main living rooms have large stone fireplaces with four-centred heads; early C17 staircase with turned balusters; C17 wall panelling complete with doors; chamfered and stopped ceiling beams.
