Pair of semi-detached houses, now university social club. 1847-49. Red brick, stone details, slate roof. 2 storeys, a mirrored pair, each with 3 first-floor windows and entrance in outer bay. Quoins. 4-panel doors with overlight in Classical surround with consoles and corniced pediment. Sashes with glazing bars, stone sills, flat brick arches, 1st-floor sill band. Eaves cornice, centre stack forward of ridge. Right return: round-arched stair window right, sash with glazing bars lighting garret. INTERIOR: not inspected. Built on the Lyddon Estate land, the first occupants were a cloth manufacturer and a commission agent. (Beresford M: Walks Round Red Brick: Leeds University Press: 1980-: 56).
