Stables. Early C19, converted c1993. Probably for Robert Wormald. Ashlar, low-pitched slate hipped roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, added single-storey wing projects on left. Main range: central pedimented bay breaks forward and has an elliptical carriageway through the building with shaped voussoirs and keystone, continuous impost band and round window in pediment. East (yard) side: wide doorway right with roll-moulded surround, lunetted window right again, chamfered windows to 1st floor above impost band. Left: projecting bay has a Venetian window in gable, right return rebuilt. West front: small windows to ground floor, paired slit vents above. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: probably part of the remodelling of the estate buildings undertaken by Robert Wormald when he bought the estate in 1820; he appears to have remodelled a farm group; see Cookridge Hall (qv).
