House. Mid C18, altered C19 and C20. Rendered brick, slate roof; deep moulded cornice, parapet. 3 storeys, 2 windows wide, plain architraves with keyblocks and moulded sills; sashes without glazing bars in exposed casings; 2nd-floor windows almost square, with decorative ventilation tile between. Ground floor late C19/early C20 shop front with fluted pilasters and modillion cornice. INTERIOR: not inspected. Part of the built-up south side of (then) Simpson's Fold shown on Jeffery's map of 1770; Giles' map of 1815 shows the house with a narrow rear wing, built over by 1847 (OS map). (Jefferys T: A Plan of Leeds: 1770-; Netlam & Frances Giles: Plan of the Town of Leeds and its Environs: 1815-).
