House, now offices. 1785-94, restored C20. By William Hargrave. Red brick, Flemish bond, stone details, slate roof. 3 storeys, 5 windows. Steps up to central panelled door with fanlight, Tuscan three-quarter columns, entablature and dentilled pediment. Restored glazing bars throughout, stone sills, painted slightly cambered arches, continuous band to 1st floor. Modillion eaves cornice. Stack forward of ridge, left. INTERIOR: not inspected. William Hargrave built at least 14 houses for merchants moving from the congested medieval town centre to Park Place, part of the Wilson estate. (Beresford, M: East End, West End: Face of Leeds During Urbanisation 1684-1842: Leeds: 1988-: 163).
