Houses, now offices, with area railings. 1788-91, restored C20. By Wiliam Hargrave. Red brick, Flemish bond, slate roof, wrought-iron railings. 3 storeys and basement, each of 3 bays. Entrance to each is on the left: fielded-panel doors with fanlight in wooden pilastered surround, entablature and pediment. Restored sashes with glazing bars, stone sills and slightly cambered wedge lintels, 1st-floor sill band. INTERIOR: not inspected. Railings with gate right, the standard has a maker's plaque: 'A DOUGILL/ 36 GT GEORGE ST/ LEEDS'; bars have ball finials. William Hargrave, master carpenter, built most of the houses in Park Place on land leased from the Wilson estate; the houses and workshops were leased to the wealthy cloth merchants and professional people moving out of the congested medieval town centre.
