House, now offices, with area railings. c1790. By William
Lawrance, carpenter, joiner and architect. Red brick, Flemish
bond, slate roof, wrought-iron railings.
3 storeys and basement. 7 first-floor windows: a symmetrical
5-window facade with central entrance left and a 2-window bay
to right (formerly No.10A) with a restored carriage entrance
to ground floor. Central doorway has fluted columns of wood
with plaster Corinthian capitals, fanlight and pediment. Sash
windows, stone sills and wedge lintels. Rear: bow window to
ground floor, round-arched stair window.
INTERIOR: reputed to contain ground-floor rooms with cornices
and frieze and round arch to rear room. Hall with pilastered
round arch, staircase with slender turned balusters and
moulded handrail, modillion cornice to ceiling and pilastered
architrave to stair window.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings: pointed bud finials to bars.
The wide archway originally led into a rear yard and
workshops/warehouses.
