Barn approx 8 metres west of
Vinney Green Farmhouse

Detached barn. Later C18 or early C19. Rubble, thin-bedded lias and sandstone, with dressed quoins, jambs and voussoirs, all formerly limewashed, double-Roman tile roof. A small free-standing gabled barn in 5 bays, with wide central doorway each side. The long front facing the Lane has a wide opening with rebated jambs and very flat elliptical arch, containing late C20 door but some earlier glazing to the transom, and remains of hinge-pins; to each side is a blocked ventilation slit. The gable return, left, has a plank stable door with overlight, and the right return has a 2-light unglazed casement set high. The long inner front has a wide opening with elliptical head and a pair of plank doors under transom-light; to each side is a blocked ventilation slit. INTERIOR: concrete floor. Four light trussed principals with 2 staggered flush purlins, and with lathing beneath tiles. Included for group value with Vinney Green Farmhouse (qv).
