2 town houses. 1840s. Flemish bond brown brick with pale
headers; grey slate roof.
Painted stone plinth and sills; wedge lintels; recessed
sashes; eaves cornice. The face to Hoole Road comprises the
front of No.37 and the right end of No.1 Derby Place: 3 stone
steps in recessed round-arched porch with plinths and capitals
to pilasters and a concave triangular recessed panel to each
side of arch, projecting keystone and cornice hood; door of 2
tall panels; a 4-pane sash to each side of door, plus sash to
No.1 Derby Place, left; the first floor has three 4-pane
sashes, plus one to Derby Place.
The face to Derby Place has 3 stone steps, the lower 2 refaced
in concrete, to door of 2 tall panels with simple overlight in
simple pilastered case; a 4-pane sash to each side of door
plus a 12-pane sash in slightly recessed rear wing; the first
floor has three 4-pane sashes in main block and a 12-pane sash
in rear wing.
INTERIORS not inspected.
Forms a group with Nos 3 and 5 (qv).
