2 town houses, built together, now offices. Probably late C18, altered and converted later C20. Flemish bond brown brick; grey slate roof. 3 storeys plus added dormers to loft. Each former house has a small opening to a cellar, in the painted stone plinth. No.88 has 2 steps to a door, east, of 4 fielded panels with a plain overlight in a recessed porch which has a restored or rebuilt case with a simple pediment on console brackets. Each house had 2 recessed sashes to each storey, with painted stone sills and wedge lintels; the sashes to the first and second storeys are of 12 panes, those to the third storey 6 panes; the doorway to No.90 is replaced by a facsimile sash; the sash boxes are displayed in No.90. The cornice and roof carries through; 2 reverse-pitch slate-cheeked dormers are inserted in the roof of each house; ridge chimneys. The rear wall is rebuilt, with sills and cambered heads of brick to three 12-pane recessed sashes to the first and second storeys and of 6 panes to the third storey. INTERIOR: rebuilt in keeping but without retention of original features. Included for group value.
