TQ3379 BERMONDSEY STREET 636-1/5/54 (East side) Tomb approx 15m south south-east of Church of St Mary Magdalene

GV II

Chest tomb. C18. Stone and brick. Situated on a high brick plinth and having baluster pilasters, fielded side panels and a heavy ledger slab on top. No inscription visible. A number of C18 persons commemorated with tombs are listed in Lysons' 'Environs of London', pp.550-1, but it is not possible to match any of his entries to this, the most prominent tomb in the churchyard. (Lysons D: Environs of London, Vol.I: 1795-1797: 550-1).
