2/66 The Lodge - - II
House. C17 core, altered in early C19. 2 storeys: T-shaped form. Timber- framed main north-south range slightly extended along east front and faced in early C19 white brick: rear east-west range rendered. End chimney-stacks to main range, set externally on the gables. 5 window range: small-paned sashes in cased frames with flat gauged arches over, those on the upper storey smaller, with vertical bars only. Panelled double doors, with semi-circular fanlight above. The timber-framing is partly exposed internally in the rear range. A 2-storey brick extension of circa 1870 in the north-east corner has windows with heavy arched surrounds and a dentil cornice with an associated band of decorated bricks,similar to those on the school.
