House. Early C17. Long main range with cross wing at west end, the cross wing
originally extending further to the north; this cross wing may have originally
been a separate detached dwelling. Main range: original brick gable end, red
brick casing, re-used stone to one quoin and part of plinth, and also to at
least part of the core of the building; pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 5
window range, mainly C19 casements, segmental arches; asymmetrical doorway with
4-panel door, plaster cove cornice, 3 gabled dormers, internal stack; gable end
with corbelled eaves, tumbled brickwork and blocked attic window. Cross wing:
timber framed, part plastered, part cased in brick, pantiled roof; single
storey and attic; internal stack. Interior with original newel staircases and
some good original doors and floorboarding; cross wing with exposed timbering
and first floor plastered brick fireplace with depressed 4-centre arch.
Probably a former manor house although firm evidence is lacking.
