The White House

II

House. Mid C17 with alterations of 1849 and c.1970. Central 3-cell C17 core,
with C19 extension to left one window wide, and another to right 2 windows
wide. 2 storeys. Timber-framed and plastered central section, the later
extensions of red brick now painted. Roman pantiled roofs, apart from right-
hand extension which is plaintiled. Internal chimneys of red brick. Early
C20 mullioned windows with metal casements and leaded lights; both C19
extensions have 2-light casements, those at 1st floor having arched heads
above with curved glazing bars. Early C20 boarded and battened entrance door.
Typical C17 close-studding, arch-braced. Central chimney has open fireplaces,
altered, to hall and parlour.
