- II
Barn, now community centre. Probably early C18 (roof-tile dated 1721), added to, restored 1985. Timber frame with C20 weatherboarding on rebuilt brick plinth; clay pantile roof. 5 bays with added side outshut on right and added bay on left. Central hipped-roofed midstrey with double door board. To either side, C20 paired dark-glazed, double doors. Outshut on right has board door. Added bay on left has corrugated-iron walls and roof, panelled door and 4-pane window with another above breaking eaves and rising as gabled dormer; stack at junction with barn. Rear: opposing cart-entry with double-door. Addition on right has 6-pane ground-floor window and dormer above as before. Right return: C20 2-light 6-pane window in gable. Interior: restored brick plinth. Restored timber frame has tall rectangular panels; unjowelled posts with straight braces down to mid rail and up to tie-beams; queen-strut roof trusses clasping through purlins; old rafters with carpenters marks; later raking wind braces at ends. The dated roof tile was discovered during the course of the restoration work.
