6/201 Old East Haxted Farm House 11/6/58 GV II
House. C15 and C17 with C20 restoration. Timber framed on brick and stone plinth, brick infill below rendered infill above; tile hung in alternating fishscale and diamond pattern to left. Plain tiled roofs, hipped on ranges to left. Triple rear ridge stack to right of centre with joined oversailing tops and beehive brick pots; further stacks to left. L shaped with long projecting wing to front left, smaller gabled front bay to right end. 2 storeys, wooden framed leaded casement fenestration. One 3-light window to first floor of gable, two 2-light windows to first floor centre, 5 windows along first floor of left wing. Irregular ground floor fenestration including 4-light casement to right, and right of centre; 5 windows on left hand wing. Planked door to left in re-entrant angle of projecting wing under flat hood on braces. Left hand return front:- Irregular leaded casement fenestration. Former oast house included to right with tile hung tapering roof. Planked door in first floor of oast up a flight of external wooden stairs. Further door to left end under first floor balcony and flat braced hood. Rear:- Jettied first floor to left hand bay with square diamond pane bay window under pent roof. 4-light window on each floor of the bay with ovolo mullions.
Interior:- Considerable quantities of framing visible, chamfered beams to ceilings and deep brick fireplaces.
