6/239 The Crown Inn 11.6.58 (formerly listed as Shrine Cottage, Terrace Cottage, Streeter's Ctge & Crown Hill) GV II

House, extended, now Public House, C16 with extensive restoration and facade of c1870. Timber framed with applied framing to front, whitewashed brick and rough- cast above; plain tiled,half hipped roof with end stacks and front stack to right. 3 storeys, gable front wing to right with second floor jettied on moulded brackets. Moulded board eaves to main roof block on left. 4 sash windows across second floor, bowed casement window to first floor right. Circular window to first floor centre and "Swallows House" type window to first floor left. Projecting ground floor with flat roofs to left and centre;bowed casement windows flanking arched porch recess. Half glazed door to rear of porch, further half glazed doors to left of centre and right. Right hand return front: exposed framing.
