5/67 Walls to Former Kitchen Garden of Horsley Towers
GV II
Walls to former Kitchen Garden. Mid C18. Red brick, part colourwashed, with brick coping. Rectangular plan, approximately 100 metres by 60 metres, the north and south sides terraced. West wall now demolished. Walls to east approximately 8 feet high with decorative terracotta panels around the south east corner. Main entrance to north east corner with further minor entrances to south west. North East Gate: Stone. In Classical style with flat dentilled cornice antique dress. Decorative panel over arched entrance containing circular portrait bust and drapery garlands. Garden side of the gate simpler, with block rustication and keystone to arched entrance.
