Eastbury Manor 3/188 II
House now nursing home. 1874 by Ewan Christian,Red brick with diaper work in black brick and stone dressings. Steeply pitched tiled roof with 4 tall chanelled brick chimney stacks, 2 storeys, 7 windows. Millioned and transomed casements with stone surrounds elaborate dogtooth and bracket cornice. 6 12-pane sashes, 2 stringcourses, Plinth. Central pedimented porch with heraldic shield and motto "SANS PEUR" 4 ionic columns and round-headed arch with keystone and double door. Left side elevation has 2 canted bays rising to gables. To right is 1 storey L Wing (probably a service Wing) with tall brick chimney stacks. Attached to left is a section of curved walling with round-headed niche attached to a section of C17 brickwork with some C18 and C19 fragments near the church. Interior features include a staircase hall containing staircase with turned wooden banisters and strapwork ceiling and fireplace with wooden. surround with ovolo moulding and ogee arch, a dining room with panelled ceilings and alcove, a fireplace dated 1874 with the motto "SANS PEUR" a marble insert and ovolo moulded surround and a lounge (formerly the library) with plastered ceiling and wooden fireplace with marble arch.
