CAPEL C.P. THE STREET TQ 14SE (West Side) 8/107 The Crown Inn 11/11/66 GV II

Public House. Late C17 with C20 extensions to rear. Timber framed, exposed on front with brick infilling, tile hung on first floor of right hand return front and brick extensions. Plain tiled roofs. Two storeys and attics in double gable end elevation, single storey extensions to end and parallel range across rear. Multiple stack with corbelled top at junction of left hand gable with rear range, further stacks to right and rear. Moulded bargeboards to each gable with pendant finial. One leaded casement window in each gable to attic storey, tension bracing on the first floor. One 2-light first floor window to each gable, that to right raised up over square bay, hipped roof window on the ground floor. Four- light window to ground floor left under drip board. Gabled porch to left of centre with double doors. Single storey range set back to left with further half- glazed door. One gable once had the date 1687 and the initials WS on its pendant.
