4 linked pairs of houses. c1830. Stucco, the 1st and 3rd pair each having a shared pediment with lunette and overhanging eaves, the 2nd and 4th pair having parapets with dormers in pitched roofs behind, No.173 with cornice and blocking course. 3 storeys, basement and attic, 2 bays with 1-bay outer entrance links each. Doors well recessed in porches have squared pilasters, entablature and patterned fanlights (Nos 169 & 179 plain). Sash windows mostly with glazing bars in plain reveals, those to ground floor round-headed, in round-arched recesses with stucco springing band. Stucco band between ground and 1st floors. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wrought-iron area railings. Nos 167-183 (odd) (qqv) form a group.
