7 houses in linked pairs. Early C19. Amber brick with slate mansard roofs with dormers over moulded cornice (missing to Nos 184, 186 & 196). 3 storeys, attic and basement, 3 bays each with outer 1-storey linking entrance extensions. Ground-floor openings round-headed in round-arched recesses with stucco band at spring. Doors with moulded jambs and fanlights, patterned to Nos 188-192 which also have pilaster jambs and cornice head. No.184 has entrance on right return and a full-height canted bay added over old entrance. Flat, gauged-brick arches to upper windows, those on 1st floor taller casements with cast-iron balconies, those on 2nd floor sashes (some with glazing bars) or casements. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: some cast-iron hand rails. Wall with wrought-iron lamp holder between Nos 186 and 188. No.188 has plaque showing: "Joseph Chamberlain (1836-1914) lived here. LCC 1920".
