2 terraced houses. Early C19, rebuilt C20. Brick in Flemish
bond. Mansard roof of slate.
3 storeys and 2 windows each. Single-storey shop front of C20
to left-hand unit, which has round-arched 1st-floor windows
and flat-arched windows above. 2 dormers to each roof.
Round-arched openings to ground floor of the right-hand unit,
all the other openings in it being flat-arched. All lintels
and round arches in gauged bricks. Party walls rebuilt in the
C20. Stack on the party wall. No.199 has door of six fielded
panels with fluted quadrant pilasters and fanlight with
vertical bars. 6x6 sashes to all windows, 3x6 to roof dormers.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to Nos 197 & 197A enclosing
shallow front garden.
Despite later alterations, this pair forms a group with Nos
185-195 & 201-215 (odd) (qqv).
