GV II
House. Early C19 but possibly incorporating earlier building. Brick with asymmetrical slate roof. 2 storeys, 3-window range representing 2 distinct phases of building. Central entrance with moulded architrave to 6-panelled door with radial fanlight. Wide 12-pane sash window to left of door on each floor and above it, with flat-arched gauged brick heads. Moulded wood eaves cornice. This section probably represents a remodelling of an earlier house, and is roofed separately with a hipped slate roof. To the right of the doorway, a straight joint marks the end of what may be an earlier structure refronted in the C19. This section has smaller 12-pane sashes possibly inserted, and at a different alignment from those of the rest of the house. Flat roof not seen behind cornice, which is continuous across both parts of the elevation. Right-hand section continues as a rear wing with two 3-light casements to ground floor in the return elevation, and a possible blocked doorway partly concealed by ivy. INTERIOR: not inspected.
