Pair of semi-detached houses. 1905. By CHB Quennell; built by GW Hart. Red brick. No.47 with grey late C20 tiled roof and dormer; No.49 red tiled. Hipped and gabled roofs with overhanging eaves having painted wooden soffit. Central slab chimney-stack and No.49 with tall brick side stack. Symmetrically designed pair. Two storeys; No.47 with attic. Three windows each. All windows of transom and mullion type with glazing bars. Outer projecting gabled bays have seven-light bowed bays to ground floors and four-light windows under segmental relieving arches to first floors; continuous first floor brick sill band. Eaves return around gable to give, with brick modillions, the appearance of a broken pediment. Slightly projecting entrance bays at angles of outer and central bays; porches formed by deep wooden entablatures, part glazed panelled doors with sidelights; small two-light windows above. Ground floor three-light windows with gauged brick flat arches; first floor similar but without arches.
