Peruppa Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Late C18 or early C19, extended probably mid C19. Slate hanging to front of original part, otherwise killas rubble with red brick dressings; dry slate roof: hipped on the left and half-hipped on the right plus lean-to at far right; three large brick stacks over the ends of the original house. Double-depth plan, the original house with two rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall, then extended with probable parlour wing on the left and a lean-to probable apple loft on the right.

EXTERIOR: Two storeys; original symmetrical three-window front with central doorway plus one-window-range wing on the left and apple loft on right with doorway on its left approached by flight of stone steps. Late C19 or C20 six-pane horned sashes. Old glazed porch with hipped slate roof in front of original doorway.

INTERIOR not inspected. A complete example, distinguished by the use of slate hanging in a characteristic regional style.

This entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 13 September 2018.
