Row of 3 houses (perhaps formerly one farmhouse with shippon),
Nos 50 & 54 now shops. Probably early C18; altered.
Whitewashed brick and white painted render (No.50),
half-hipped thatched roof. Single-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: one storey with attic; 5-window range.
No.50 has a doorway with pilastered surround, now altered as a
window with glazing bars and arched top panes, flanked by
large slightly-bowed multi-pane windows, all these openings
with friezes and cornices. Its right-hand gable wall has an
inserted glazed door and a small window above.
No.52 to the left has a 3-light sliding sash window at ground
floor, a formerly similar window above altered to a casement,
with thatch eyebrow over, and a doorway to the left with a
wooden lintel and board door.
No.54 at the left end, which is slightly lower, has a slightly
taller doorway next to No.52, a small rectangular plate-glass
shop window with pilastered surround, and left of this a small
2-light sliding sash window. Ridge chimney at junction of Nos
50 & 52, gable chimney to No.54.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
