GV II

Commercial building with shops at ground floor, and attached
verandah. Later C19, altered. Painted brick, hipped slate
roof; verandah of cast-iron and glass. Rectangular plan.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; 2-window range. C20 shop front at ground
floor; pilastered upper floors with sill band to second floor
and prominent bracketed eaves; 2 3-light windows on each of
these floors, those at first floor larger and with
round-headed lights, slender shafts, and pilastered
architraves with cornices, and those at second floor with
carved capitals to the mullions.
3-bay verandah with single-pitched glazed roof projected on
long ornamental brackets from the tops of slender cast-iron
columns, and over the centre bay a pediment of elaborate
scrolled open-work with cresting.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with Nos 127-133 adjoining to the left (qv), and
the verandah part of the series which characterizes this
street.
