Includes: Stable and coach-house to rear of No.9 Manchester
Road WALTON STREET.
Former stable and coach-house with linking screen wall; now
store and garage. Probably c1835-40; altered. Brown brick in
English garden wall bond (5 plus one courses), hipped slate
roofs. 2 small rectangular blocks at right-angles to Walton
Street and facing it linked by a screen wall.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey one-window blocks with single-storey screen
wall. The former coach-house to the right has an
elliptical-headed carriage doorway with double board doors;
the former stable to the left has inserted C20 garage doors.
Each block has a small square loading door above with raised
sill, wedge lintel and board door.
The linking screen wall has a round-headed doorway in the
centre with three-quarter stone jambs, board door and
plastered overlight, and a heavy stone cornice carried across
with a blocking course which incorporates a crested panel over
the doorway.
