Overthrow at Eliot House
GV II
Gate piers, gates and overthrow to Eliot House, formerly White Walls. Dated 1925, by P.D. Hepworth for Charles Ryan. Brick piers, whitewashed, with vertical panel set forward, in brick. Chamfered base, moulded cap with pyramidal top. Pair of wrought iron gates with fine filigree work, the central panel of each bears an elephant, over strong vertical frame, curved dog bars. Sinuous overthrow dated 1925. A. Trystan Edwards, some recent work of Philip Hepworth, 1931. Hampstead Garden Suburb Conservation Area, The Bishop's Avenue, Draft Character Appraisal Statement, L.B. Barnet, act. 1998.
