TQ 1774 NE RICHMOND PALACE WALL 22/20/10109 GV II
Garden wall, early C16, formerly dividing the Privy Garden and Privy Orchard of Richmond Palace, built 1498 - 1501 for Henry VII, repaired from C18, raised 1938-9. Red brown brick in English bond, c 4.5 m high. Chamfered brick coping above courses of dentil and dog- tooth brick work. Probably C20 inserted round arched and square headed openings, now blocked. Wall raised by 2.3 m in 1938-9 in stock brick with crenellations. Southern end of separate build on different alignment, brown brick, some in Flemish bond, repaired.
