Farmhouse. Circa late C17; altered and extended late C19. Flemish and various English bond buff-colured brick with corbelled brick eaves and quoins. Clay plain tile roof with stone coped gable ends. Brick gable-end and axial stacks.
PLAN: 2-room plan main range with central entrance with 2-storey porch on front, and at centre at rear a small 2-story service wing. To left [NE] a service wing continuing the main range with a lower wing on the front forming L-shaped plan. Late in the C19 the NE service wing was partly rebuilt and a 2-bay wing was added to the opposite SW end.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 3-bay NW front; 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars and cambered red brick arches; C20 attic casement on left. Central gabled 2-storey porch with round arch doorway with keystone and imposts, small squints in side walls and plank inner door with wrought-iron hinges. Range on left has 1-storey and attic wing with hipped slate canopy to porch in the angle, and external stair to first floor doorway. Late C19 brick wing on right [SW] with large 4-pane sashes. Rear [SE] has 2 and 3-pane casements with horizontal glazing bars and cambered red brick arches, and 2-storey gable-ended wing at centre; late C19 brick wing on left and service range on right with rebuilt gable-end.
INTERIOR: Much of the interior joinery survives, including the main staircase with moulded balusters and heavy handrail, panelled window shutters, plank doors with wrought-iron hinges; and roof structure. Late C19 wing has Victorian staircase and chimneypieces.
