Barn approx. 90 metres south east of Old Hall Farmhouse

Barn. c.1800. Red brick; pantiled roof. PLAN: 3-stead threshing barn with transept entrance to east. EXTERIOR: high brick plinth. East and west elevations divided into 5 bays by giant brick pilasters, north and south returns in 2 similar bays. Hipped roof. Each bay except centre bays of main elevations with 3 ventilation slits arranged vertically. Brickwork in English bond, the middle horizontal band reusing smaller older bricks. This banding continues into the east transept, which has a hipped roof and carriage entrance under segmental arch. Main wall behind with semi-circular relieving arch. North of transept is a mid C19 lean-to outshut with one timber door and one boarded window.
West elevation with opening for double timber doors under a semi-circular overlight. Opening leads into breeze block extension of 1988-9.
INTERIOR: pointed transept arch on east side. Roof of 7 tie beams, principals, 2 tiers of butt purlins, collars and ridge piece. Giant brick pilasters repeated on interior walls. Transept roof of tie beams, one tier of butt purlins and collars.
Forms a group with Old Hall Farmhouse (qv) (item 6/104), Barn approx.60 metres south east of Old Hall Farmhouse (qv) (item 10012), Church of St.Mary (qv) (item 6/ 02), and Remains of the Church of St.Martin (qv) (6/103).
