Terraced houses. Early C19. Nos 9 and 12 faced with stucco
scored to imitate ashlaring, the bay spandrels faced with
plain stucco; No.10 painted brick in Flemish bond, with C20
fish scale tiles to bay spandrels; No.11 painted brick in
Flemish bond, with mathematical tiles to bay spandrels.
Gambrel roof to Nos 9 and 12 covered in slate, to No.10 slate
turnerised, and to No.11 tile.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and dormer over basement. One window each.
Although the materials used in each unit vary the design is
identical; a description of the common type follows.
Flat-arched entrance with overlight framed by fluted Tuscan
pilasters from which spring console brackets supporting a
modillioned cornice porch; all entrances set to right party
wall except for No.9 which is set to the left; all units have
6-panelled door; jambs and soffits of Nos 11 and 12 are
panelled. To side of entrance rises a full-height segmental
bay with flat-arched, tripartite windows, all sashes of
original design, 6 x 6 to centre and 4 x 4 to the sides; the
second-floor windows are shorter than those below; basement
windows have some original sashes, except for No.11. Above bay
is a single flat-arched dormer. Stacks to party walls.
