II
Bank. 1907. White terracotta and red brick. Slate roof. Terracotta and brick axial stacks with small pilasters and cornices.
PLAN: Occupying corner site with entrance to banking hall on the east corner.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 1:2:2:1 bay north front. Polished black stone plinth and rusticated ground floor with slightly advanced end bays with round arch windows and large segmental arch windows at centre; entablature with modillion cornice at first floor level; first floor has paired Ionic half-columns at centre and advanced end bays with open semi-circular pediments, the left containing cartouche with bee-hive. The east corner is splayed, the centre breaks forward with paired Ionic engaged columns to entrance with oval occulus over, 2-light window above with segmental open pediment above containing bee-hive. Over the corner a tower with Ionic pilasters and small terracotta dome with finial. The south side is asymmetrical and built of red brick with white terracotta dressings in an Italianate style with pedimental gables, an oriel and a portico with a round arch and segmental hood on consoles.
INTERIOR: Banking hall has moulded ceiling cornice with modillions; furnishings removed.
