Terraced houses. Early C19. Stucco. Roofs of Nos 28 and 29
obscured by parapet, No.30 of slate, and No.31 of tile. No.28,
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic over basement; Nos 29-31, 4
storeys over basement. 2 windows each. Flat-arched entries,
paired and framed by fluted pilasters, console brackets and
cornice, Nos 28-29 topped by segmental pediment with raking
cornice and a tympanum decorated with a sunburst. The door
jambs and soffits of the entries are panelled; plain
overlights above each entry. To the side of each entry a
segmental bay with tripartite windows. Bay to No.28 is 3
storeys, the rest full height. All windows flat arched.
Balconies to first floor enclosed to cast-iron railings; the
balcony to No.28 is carried on cast-iron brackets and has a
railing comprised of intersecting ogee arches and quatrefoils
in bands. Entablatures to all units. Other noteworthy features
include: banded rustication to basement and ground floor of
No.28, which has an entablature to second floor as well;
cornice and blocking course to Nos 29 and 30; denticulated
cornice and blocking course to No.31. Stacks to alternate
party walls.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Cast-iron rails of fleur-de-lys and pikes to stairs and area.
Nos 28-31 form a group with Nos 1-15 and 18-24 (qv).
