Terraced houses. c1820. Stucco, roof obscured by parapet.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys over basement, 2-window range. All windows
flat-arched. The 2 houses were presumably once of identical
design, but No.1 now has no entrance in Norfolk Road and many
of its details have been altered to correspond with its other
neighbour, No.116A Western Road (not included): ground-floor
windows with one mullion, one transom, and quadrant corners to
the upper lights; elaborate storey-band between ground and
first floor, simpler between first and second; panelled
spandrels to first-floor windows, sashes of original design to
second-floor windows, 3 x 6 panes; cornice and parapet. No.2:
steps up to flat-arched entrance with overlight and panelled
door of original design, the upper panels now glazed.
Bracketed balcony to first floor with elaborate cast-iron
balustrade; first-floor windows have sashes of original
design, 4 x 4 panes; plain storey band between first and
second floors; second-floor windows have sashes of original
design, 3 x 6 panes; cornice and parapet.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Attached railings with spearhead finials, those to No.1
perhaps replacements; pineapple finials to the standards
flanking the entrance to No.2.
