Terraced house. Early C19 altered in mid to late C19. Stucco.
Roof obscured by parapet.
6 storeys over half basement. 2-window range. Similar in
elevation to No.22 (qv). Up stairs to flat-arched entrance.
Ground floor has chamfered rustication. Entrance paired with
that of No.20 (qv), both set under a shallow prostyle porch of
fluted Doric columns and entablature. To right a full-height
canted bay with tripartite windows. All windows flat arched.
To the left of the bay and above entrance one window to each
floor, all with architraves and projecting sills. First-floor
balcony with cast-iron brackets and railings. Cornice storey
bands between first and second, and second and third floors.
Plain storey bands separating all upper floors. Parapet with
coping to fifth floor; all horizontal bands continue across
the bay.
INTERIOR: not inspected. Railings to stairs and area.
Nos 20-31 Old Steine (qv) form a group.
