Terraced houses. c1865. Stucco, roofs obscured by parapet. Three storeys over basement, two windows each. The houses are arranged in pairs with the entrances next door to each other and a single, though subdivided, balcony.
The standard design is: each pair of houses separated by a full-height pilaster, rusticated to ground floor with two blocks at cornice level, the lower bracketed; steps up to round-arched entrance with fanlight and panelled door; entrance architrave linked by springing band to that over ground-floor round-arched window; storey band between ground and first floor; first and second floor windows flat-arched with moulded architraves; cantilevered balcony to first floor with cast-iron balustrade of scrolling foliage; cornice and parapet; stacks to party walls; corniced gate piers and dwarf walls to street; cast-iron railings to steps.
Features of individual houses are: No.31 has all mouldings simplified; Nos 35-37 have mouldings simplified to first and second floors.
