Terraced houses, No.1 now a bank. c1825. Probably by Amon
Wilds and CA Busby. Stucco and granite, roof obscured by
parapet.
EXTERIOR: 4 storeys over basement, No.1 of 3-window range in
St Peter's Place and 3-window range in London Road; Nos 2 and
3 of 2-window range in St Peter's Place. No.1 has been altered
for a bank on the ground floor, c1900: flat-arched entrance in
London Road flanked by blocked granite Doric columns carrying
an entablature and open segmental pediment; ground floor
decorated with banded rustication; flat-arched windows to
left; round-arched windows with coved reveals to right, those
to London Road flanked by granite Doric columns; cornice.
Upper windows all flat-arched; 4-storey segmental bay to left
in London Road; in St Peter's Place the first and second
floors are flanked by Ionic pilasters, entablature to both
fronts; attic storey; secondary cornice and parapet. No 2
appears to be part of the bank now and lacks an entrance and a
balcony; Nos 2 and 3 have rusticated ground floor;
round-arched entrance to No.3 with fanlight and balcony to
first floor with cast-iron railings; all windows flat-arched;
first and second floors flanked by Ionic pilasters;
entablature; attic storey; secondary cornice and parapet; end
stacks.
