Octagonal pavilion in Preston Park
II
Pavilion, approx 150 metres south-west of the clock tower
(qv). c1890. Brick, timber and ornamental facing bricks, red
and yellow; roof of tiles. The building is octagonal in plan
with 2 long sides to the south-west and north-east.
Flat-arched entrance to south-west, partly glazed. Wooden
frame on a brick plinth; between the plinth and the windows on
all but 3 sides are courses of bricks moulded in a great
variety of patterns; each course has a different pattern
running the length of one side, with very little repetition
overall; decorative bricks also flanking entrance; casement
windows chamfered at top outer corner; hipped roof with
gablets to cardinal points.
