TQ3105SE WASHINGTON STREET 577-1/28/957 (North West side) No.89 The Vicarage


Vicarage to the Church of the Annunciation (qv). Dated 1897 on the foundation stone. Random flint with raised mortar joints and brick dressings, roof of tiles. 2 storeys over basement with dormers in the attic. All openings have dressings in the form of quoins; pointed-arched entrance with overlight and panelled door; secondary segmental-arched entrance; paired pointed-arched windows either side of main entrance to ground and first floor; the windows of the vestry and related rooms next to the church are also mainly pointed-arched with stepped sills; one ground- and one first-floor window set back in a pointed-arched recess under its own gable, the spandrel between the windows tile-hung; brick springing and storey bands; statue of the Virgin Mary above entrance; 2 gabled dormers; end and central stacks. INTERIOR: not inspected. Included for group value.
